About Sharing in Education

2.B Actively participate in professional learning networks to enhance coaching practice and keep current with emerging technology and innovations in pedagogy and the learning sciences.

   I've found this quote while searching different PLNs to join, it struck me as a fundamental truth about success. You are only successful in the context that surrounds you. Technology coaches act as a medium between teachers, students and technology practices. When we acquire and share our knowledge we create positive changes around us. 
     Every learning environment is different, some are more supportive of exchange of practices with rewards and opportunities for professional sharing. I always think about people who have confidence and courage to share their successes as educators as movers and shakers.  The working environment that encourages collegial collaboration and exchange is the most successful one. 
   My way of learning from others is still lacking the sharing piece. I am always curious how my colleagues handle different challenges or create amazing learning experiences for students, but when I think about sharing my knowledge or successes with others, I am in a panic mode: what if people think that it's not good enough. I am still struggling to find courage and open myself to being vulnerable to people's opinions.  Cultural shift towards positive and supportive mindset amongst professionals, appreciation of our differences, tolerance of our growing pains would  foster exchange of experiences and creative solutions. 
To reach my goal in the above ISTE standard I participate in many PLN groups on twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms. My biggest goal is to start not only learning from those sources, but start sharing my own ideas as well. I follow a few amazing educators on twitter and would recommend every educator to follow PLN to stay current on pedagogical and technological trends in education.
